starting IV Ig treatment

I was diagnosed with CFS about 8 years ago. CFS being the heading for a big group of symptoms that they can't define any more narrowly. Last year, further blood tests revealed that I have a very low IgG level, and diagnosed with hypogammaglobulinaemia and I started 10 mL IM injections of gammaglobulin. There was some improvement in my energy levels, but I was still getting recurrent sinus infections every 4-6 weeks.

I am about to start IV gammaglobulin treatment as soon as it is all passed by the Blood Bank, and I'd appreciate any information that anyone can pass onto me about it. How successful it has been, any side effects, what I should expect etc.

I am 39, I live in Australia, I am a sole parent of 2 high school children. I have recently started working 2 days/week, but this is making me very tired (I am also on a disability pension).

With thanks,
Anne

My fifteen year old daughter started IVIg in January. She too had chronic sinus infections, among other things. She is still having some other health issues we haven't sorted out, but I would have to say the IVIg has definitely made a difference in her sinus infections. As far as the IVIg itself, she seems to get a headache and extreme fatigue when she gets the treatment, but the next day these side effects seem to dissipate.

Is your fatigue from the CFS or chronic infections, or they don't know? I hope the IVIg is helpful for you.

I was just wondering how you were diagnosed with the CFS..??? Is it from the hypogamm..... My son is nine and after any extreme exercise his glands swell and he is wiped out for days....
