protein in urine
Posted by: adschwing (---.mivlmd.cablespeed.com)
Date: April 04, 2006 06:17PM we just recieved my sons pneumococcal results and he did have a very good response to the vaccine according to the labs. His energy level and apin are still the same But now they have found protein in his urine and they are thinking this may be his problem something along the lines of losing his immunoglobulin through the kidneys. It is soo confusing. Does anyone else have this problem and if so how are they treating you? Does IVIG do anything? allie Re: protein in urine

Date: November 16, 2006 05:30AM Yes, I do! I see a nephrologist every six months regarding the problem. I take a low-dose blood pressure pill to avoid scarring of my kidneys. The IVIG infusions are supposed to treat proteinuria according to my nephorologist. The doctor isn't sure why I'm having this problem but she says that if I hit the 'gray zone' (spilling protein over 900 mg) then she will do a kidney biopsy. I hope this helps.
