Just got diagnosed....and scared

Hey all. I just stumbled onto this forum as I was searching the internet for CVID. I was just recently diagnosed. I've been experiencing miserable symptoms (pneumonia, sinusitis, gastro...etc) all my life, and as far back as I can remember, I've "overdone" every cold I've ever had...well, now I have the "official" diagnosis, and I'm scared. I'm in the military, and I'm worried what this is going to do in the regard...will I have to separate? Will they kick me out? Will the medically retire me? What about disability? It's scary, hearing that I'm going to have to have these injections/treatments every 3 weeks. What's that like? My doctor says I'm only the 3rd CVID patient he's had in 10 years. He said all three of my Ig's were low...in fact, he said, basically they're all non-existent. The levels were all below 15...I guess that's bad, but I don't know. Can someone please help me answer these questions? How "normal" can my life be with this? I mean, obviously, I can't deploy anymore. And I'm PREGNANT right now (found out 3 days before I got the results of my CVID testing)...this baby is my FIFTH...I remember the others weren't so bad, but the last one, I was sick the whole time and then nearly died from a bout with pneumonia right after her birth...anyway, I'm shifting...I'm just scared and don't know what to do...any help is appreciated! Thanks so much, Shel

I was medically retired with a service connected disability as this condition is not compatible with deploying.

Start IVIG ASAP and have your Drs. do a complete blood work uyp on you to see if you are lacking or deficient anywhere.
