Cyclical Neutropenia

My 21 month old son was diagnosed with Cyclical Neutropenia a few months ago and I am looking for some help. He has not had a lot of infections, but seems to never feel good. He seems to always be tired and cries a lot. Can anyone offer me any advice?

Thanks!
Melissa

My daughter Abby is 15 months I think has this. She has neutropenia that does cycle but they havent called it that yet since she has so many other problems. Her first hematologist put her on neupogen to early and they couldnt see a strong pattern. Her lowest ANC was 147 her highest was 990. She hasnt had to many infections besides her sinus. She has had also something in her lungs that showed up in her CT scan.

Does your daughter's mood's seem to also change with her cycle? Is neupogen an oral drug? My doctor said the only treatment available was the GF daily injections, but since he does not get sick a lot we did not feel we should put him through that at this point. It sounds like your daughter's case is worse then my son's since when he is healthy his counts are normally around 1300. My son saw a doctor at the local children's hospital (Hershey, PA) but all the doctor did was do the blook cycle testing and then said to follow up if needed, and now I am wondering if I need to find another doctor. What area are you from?? You can feel free to email me directly
