I write for IGLIVING magazine (in case you don't get it- it's free and it's for PID patients - go to www.igliving.com and sign up) I'm trying to find patients over 55 for an article I am doing. If any of you are willing to be included, or know someone who is- please contact me Thanks so much Carol PIDD patient ckmiletti@msn.com Carol Miletti ckmiletti@msn.com Re: Patients over 55 for next article of IGLIVING

Date: June 15, 2007 04:00AM Hi Carol,
I'm 65 and was diagnosed in April w/hypogammaglobulinemia. So last Friday I started infusions of gamma. They ran a Benedryl drip, I fell asleep, half way thru the 10cc's of gamma, my throat closed over, and I choked. The infusion was stopped, a bag of saline was run to flush me out, I was put on oxygen, and a small drip of steriods. I see the spec. tomorrow to discuss other options ie in hospital for "a while" to go on steriods, and on the 22nd of June a bone marrow test, "cant wait for that one, lol". I'm also B12 deficient What else can I answer for you? MaryAnn McLean Re: Patients over 55 for next article of IGLIVING

Sorry I've been very ill again. Just found your message. I got the results of my bone marrow, no leukemia. However the hematologist said if you get sick again, go back to your pcmd and go on antibiotics, and if that doesn't work then you'll go in the hospital for steriods, and we'll try gamma again, but I'm not very optimistic about your outcome. WHAT??? So, I said to him, you mean to tell me I'll not die from cancer, stroke, heart attack, and that some friggin little bug will take me out? He just shrugged his shoulders and said yes? Hey, I'm willing to try "snake oil" treatment at this stage of the game. I just got back from my PCMD and I'm on ZPAK. Plus I decided to try Airborne, so I'm taking that every 3 hours. I realize we all have to die, but my son just got married last November, and I'd like to see grandchildren. In the past I had worked for 2 companies where employees got hepatitis and they gave everyone gamma shots, in 1980-1981 when I was pregnant with my son it was discovered I'm Rh Negative so, yet again I had gamma shots. Bottomline, I've built up an immunity to the stuff that would cure me. Ya gotta love it, LOL. Oh, the hematologist did tell me that in my case the CVID is caused from the environment, I swear I work in a "sick building", If I could prove it, I'd own the company.
