Dear people,

I've put this message a few months ago on this forum and a haven't got any reaction so far. I can not believe that nobody uses or thinks about using pro-biotics. So please, will you be so kind and give me an answer?

I want to learn more about the possibillities of adding pro-biotics (as Yakult) to the treatment of immune-deficiencies.
Please tell me: do you use pro-biotics?
What is the advice of your doctor in this?
What defiency do you have?
What medication are you on?

Thank you for your answer,

Greetings from Holland, Jellie Zuidema-Cazemier
dietician and mother of a 9 year old CVID son.

I get ivig treatments every three weeks and take rotating antibiotics every day. My doctors have encouraged me to eat probiotic yogurts and smoothies that have 5-6 bacteria, instead of 3-4. I have CVID and am 49. This is not so much a treatment as a source of creating good bacteria because that adds to our already complicated stomachs. As always check with a doctor. But it is useful for me and reccomended as an additive to antibiotic treatment.
