cyclic neutropenia

Date: February 04, 2008 08:26PM Hi and Help!
As a teenager I was diagnosed with cyclic neutropenia but nothing further was done about it. Now at 35 I have been to the docs for tests twice in the last few months to try and explain my exhaustion, bad skin and recurrent infections(seem to pick up all the bugs going!) Both times my white blood cell count was v low so I'm now going to see a haematologist at the end of the month. Can anybody tell me what sort of treatment is likely to be offered and whether it makes a difference to how you feel etc. As a single mum to 2 young children, I need some energy back!! Thanks Sara Re: cyclic neutropenia

Date: September 08, 2008 12:23AM I was diagnosed in 1987 but they did not know much about it then. I get sick very easy, essentially whenever I am around someone sick. I tend to get viruses that then turn into infections but not bacterial. My count was 3.4 last time I was tested, but it has been as low as 1.2. What is your cbc count? I am so tired of being sick and tired! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
