igg low?

Date: October 11, 2006 03:05AM Hi, I am 35 years old and have had skin allergies since the day I was born. As an adult in my early twenties I developed asthma. Since that time I have experience sinus and upper respiratory infections quite frequently increasing in number and length of illness. In the past year I have had over 12 such infections that are only relieved by taking antibiotics. Also, in addition to that I have had about 4 urinary tract infections in the past year. I have many symptoms of lupus including the butterfly rash but my ana titer was 1:80 which, as I understand is not considered to be positive for lupus. Every time my blood is drawn I have inflammation. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have a chronic low grade fever. I just went to a new Allergist and had my immunoglobulins checked. The igg was the only one that was low. It was 573 with the normal range being between 600 to 1200. He is now checking my immune system response to tetnus and pneumonia. He has ruled out sinus disease and believes that I have some sort of connective tissue disease but has not pinpointed it yet. Last week he told me to be patient but I find it hard to not be frustrated and am finding it hard to not let this interfere with my very demanding schedule. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would welcome any suggestions and any advice. Re: igg low?

Date: October 25, 2006 01:42AM I have no idea what you suffer from, but IVIG treatment proves helpful in a very wide range of immune disorders and you might want to consider it.
Hope you will get better. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
