spherocytosis

Date: August 12, 2007 07:13AM I had what was called spherocytic anemia when i was a baby. 47 yrs ago. Not much was known about it then. When my son was diagnosed
w/ hypogammaglobunemia at 6 mos. I asked his Dr. if he could have that? i was told by Dr. Stone that spherocytosis is a female desease & hereditary thru the wommen in the family. We are having our first grandchild, Shelby a little girl, should we be worried? Iasked my daughter in law to mention it to the ob/gyn, I haven't heard back yet.
