First IPOPI Bob LeBien Award Ceremony
The first IPOPI Bob LeBien Award Ceremony was held on the occasion of IPOPI’s 20th anniversary during the XIIth Biennial Meeting in Florence. The award was established in honour of Bob LeBien, founder of IPOPI and IPOPI’s Honorary Life President, who had the vision to initiate the creation of IPOPI and the commitment to serve as the founding chairperson. It is therefore with great pleasure and gratitude that Jose Drabwell, Chair of IPOPI’s , on behalf of IPOPI’s Board of Directors, presented Mr LeBien with the award during the IPOPI NMO dinner which was kindly sponsored by Baxter. Mr LeBien delivered a thank you speech which was received with much emotion and general applause by the attendees. In that speech he also expressed his vision for the Asian region and the importance to increase IPOPI’s activities in Asia in order to become truly global in scope. IPOPI wishes to express its most sincere and warmest thanks to Bob LeBien for his leadership, vision and generosity on behalf of the PID patient community.
