28 February is Rare Disease Day

Throughout the world, rare diseases patient organisations and their stakeholders are joining forces to promote awareness for rare diseases and the millions of people affected by them.
This year Rare Disease Day puts the spotlight on care with the slogan “Join Together for Better Care”. Many awareness activities are taking place all around the world in over 80 countries advocating at the local and national levels to improve the lives of people living with a rare disease and their families. Rare Disease Day began as a European event in 2008 but quickly became international in scope with more participants from other parts of the world joining in.
EURORDIS is a non-governmental patient-driven alliance of patient organisations representing 614 rare disease patient organisations in 58 countries. We are the voice of 30 million people affected by rare diseases throughout Europe.
