David Watters announces his retirement

After more than 30 years of working on behalf of patients with a plasma related disorder, and having a huge impact on the plasma product community, first on the lives of people with haemophilia and then as a fierce advocate for people living with a PID. David has decided to stop working all those crazy hours.

He is leaving IPOPI in the very capable hands of Johan Prevot and we are very glad to say we will not lose David altogether as he will continue to provide us with his vast knowledge of this particular community as a consultant.

'It has been a wonderful privilege to serve IPOPI and, through IPOPI, people with primary immunodeficiency around the world for the past many years.'

'Not only was it interesting to follow the growth and changes in the industry, but especially the evolution of improved diagnosis, management and care for our folks with PI, PID, or PIDD, call it what you will! Over the years the quality of life has changed dramatically and I am proud to have played a very small part in that process' David said.

David will continue in his role of Executive Director until June 30th 2011. In the meantime Johan will assume the role of Executive Director Designate.

World PI Week
IPOPI would be grateful for any support to the important work for primary immunodeficiencies.
