IPOPI hosted a group of leading international experts in the fields of diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiencies in London over the weekend of October 31 2009.

The inaugural IDFA Family weekend took place on the 11 – 13th September 2009. 21 families (almost 100 people) with school aged PID children came together to the Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast Queensland to meet for the first time as a family PID group.

The IPOPI NMO Support Programme has been created to assist mainly new and emerging NMOs to become effective organisations helping with primary immunodeficiencies throughout the world.

Yes folks – it is that time again!! IPOPI meets in Istanbul between Wednesday October 6 (starting after lunch) and finishing late on Saturday October 9th.

The Board has approved new Associate members from patient organisations in Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Greece, Japan and Mexico with an application from Belgium already in the line-up for the next Board meeting. So that is three from Latin America, three from Europe and one from Japan. We congratulate them all on reaching this stage in their development as ambassadors for people with primary immunodeficiencies!

Roberta, as IPOPI board member, spoke a few words welcoming the participants to the First Meeting in Latin American of the International Patient Organization for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI), and introduced Jose to the attendance.
