Biennial ESID/IPOPI/INGID Congress 2006, Budapest

More than 1,000 patients, doctors and nurses took part in this fantastic congress. The most exiting news at the ESID session was the reports on the identification of the genetic codes to many primary immunodeficiencies.

The IPOPI session comprised a mixture of presentations related to primary immunodeficiencies, educational and administrative items. The Annual General Meeting adopted a number of revised and new policy documents, which will bring IPOPI forward as an international patient organisation.

The Young Adults had their own programme with a mixture of common presentations and their own workshops, one of which was “Travelling with PID”. And as usual the youngsters had a day off to do some sightseeing in Budapest.

All in all it was a very busy conference - but still fruitful and rewarding.
