Update Summer 2000
Nordic Co-oporation Strengthens
The Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and
Sweden have always had co-operation in many ways. Also the patient
organisations for primary immunodeficiencies in the Nordic countries
have had close contacts with each other. The most significant form
of co-operation has been the co-Nordic meetings which have been
organised every three years during the last decade.
Now the Nordic co-operation has again taken one step further.
In May 20-21 in Gothenburg, Sweden, the organisations had a meeting
and it was decided there that the co-Nordic meetings shall in future
be organised by an unofficial association called NMPI. The charter
of the association was approved and also the board members were
elected. Every Nordic country has one representative in the board.
The aim of the association is to generally promote the co-operative
activities and especially to take care of the fund raising and arrangements
of the co-Nordic meetings. The board of the association will meet
regularly at least once a year.
The next co-Nordic meeting is planned to be organised in Finland
in 2001.
