World Rare Diseases Day – A Report from Brazil

On February 28 of 2009, the World Rare Disease Day took place at the Planetario Park in the city of Buenos Aires with the participation of several rare diseases organizations.

Approximately 500 people gathered to participate in this unique event which was held in our country for the first time. Doctors, organizations, patients and their families joined in an effort to raise awareness of rare diseases in our country.

The event was also a good opportunity for media exposure and many interviews were conducted throughout the afternoon -all helping us to achieve our goal of greater awareness.

Our National Association took place in this event and here is a photograph of part of our display stand.
